June Newsletter

Greetings Soft Landing!

We have placement for the 2026 Burn and are excited to be sharing our teahouse love at 6:30 & F.

Now that we have placement, it’s time to get serious (well, more serious!) about this year’s logistics.  Below are some important camp updates as well as the all-important opportunity to sign up for shifts and pay dues!

Since time immemorial (or at least as long as I can remember!), we have organized Soft Landing around pods and sponsors.  This year, we are doubling down on these important camp structures, which helps keep all of our campers connected and supported throughout the burn.

Pods & Sponsors

This year, 100% of Soft Landing Campers (yes, that means you!) will be part of a pod.  If you’re not sure what pod you’re in or want to start your own Pod, please reach out to Roo (roo@gluelogic.com).  Pods and their Leaders this year include:

  • Adventure Time - Jake

  • Android Oasis - TBD

  • Da Hive - Nectar

  • Dust Hazard - Roo

  • FoZ (Friends of Zendo) - TBD

  • Love Kitchen - Bunkin and Kole

  • Mars - Junction

  • Soul Tribe - StarByrd and JByrd

Acculturation meetings will also take place in virtual Pod meetings, prior to the burn.  These will be co-led by your pod lead and a member of our acculturation team!  This smaller venue will help open up more time for conversation around our key camp values and the importance of consent, while keeping the meetings brief and focused.

We will also be continuing with our sponsorship model for this Burn, ensuring that all of our new campers (welcome!) are sponsored by a Soft Landing Alum.  Sponsors – you should also be prepared to invite your sponsee (yes, it’s a word!) to camp as part of your pod.

On-Playa Shift Changes

In the interest of cohesive on-playa support, we will be combining two previous shifts into one.  The responsibility of the Mayor of the Day and Tea House Lead will be all rolled into one shift called the Camp Mayor!  Looking for a new way to contribute?  Sign up for one of the Camp Mayor shifts for this year.

Ok, now on to the shifts and dues!

There are a few easy steps in this process:

  1. Review the information under the “Camp Resources” on our website.  Even if you have camped with Soft Landing in the past, there are always new changes and reminders worth reviewing.

  2. Sign Up for Shifts!

  3. Pay Camp Dues! This year, the dues structure is comprised of these two options:

    • 2 shifts and $250

    • 3 shifts and $150

  4. RVs, Campers, Trailers - Complete Space Reservation form no later than July 3rd.  If this form isn’t completed, we may not have space for your RV or trailer in camp, even if your POD Leader has your information!  If you are not sure if you are bringing an RV, please fill out anyway!

  5. Plan to attend a required acculturation & consent meeting with your pod! Details TBD.

Upcoming Dates

  • Apply to join camp: Applications for new campers are open! Remember that all new campers must be sponsored by an existing camper. Please direct them to apply here. Make sure any new camper reads camp orientation guidelines here.

  • Dues and Shift Sign-Up: Open Now!

  • Pod Leaders:

    • Initial layouts/space requests due July 3

    • Final layouts/space requests due July 15 (firm!) to Roo (roo@gluelogic.com)

We look forward to getting dusty with you!
